ADMINS IN "TRAINING":

To me, art is a way of both expressing myself and meditate. When I paint, I feel absolutely nothing, and it’s the best time for myself to simply think about things and get a peace of mind. I try to improve the best I can, and the better I get, the easier it is to express myself. Thus, I offer others my help so that they could learn to express themselves better as well. This is where it all goes down the drain, though. This is where the people mindlessly screaming for stagnation step into the picture. The people who think art is all about FUN and expressing themselves without the means to do so. The people who scream the moment someone mentions the words “anatomy”, “composition” and, gasp, “color-theory”. Guess what, these aren’t art, these are simply means to help you improve your art and unless you work on them, you’ll never get better. And just so that you know, I have absolutely nothing against anyone who’s happy with not improving, but those who tell others not to improve because it’s not “fun”, please go take a long, long look in the mirror and ask yourself “am I doing the exact thing I’m talking against?” because yes, yes you are. I’m not having your “fun” whilst painting, so why am I obliged to? And for that matter, why is anyone else obliged to, either? Why aren’t people allowed to tell anyone that they could do what they do better? Please stop telling people what their art should mean to them. submitted by -rainingspines
